Size Support

Everything you need to get your perfect fit, every time.

Misure One removes sizing guesswork by mapping your body to the garment, not to an industry average. This guide explains how our Fit Profile works, how to measure yourself correctly, and how to get the most from every recommendation.

How Your Fit Profile Works

When you build a Fit Profile, Misure One creates a precise body data model unique to you. Our AI engine cross-references up to 42 individual garment specifications (seam allowances, fabric stretch coefficients, cut geometry) against your body data to find not just your size, but your ideal size for that specific piece.

Your Fit Profile improves with every interaction:

  • Initial profile: Built from your responses to a structured questionnaire covering body measurements, garments you already own that fit well, and your fit preference (slim, regular, relaxed).
  • Purchase feedback: Each time you buy through a connected retailer, your profile refines based on whether the recommended size was correct.
  • Return data: If you return an item, telling us why trains the model specifically for that brand and cut.
  • Manual updates: You can update your measurements at any time in your dashboard, and your profile re-calibrates instantly.

Based on internal testing during development, most users reach above 97% fit accuracy within three to five purchases.

How to Take Your Measurements

For the most accurate Fit Profile, use a soft measuring tape and take measurements over fitted, lightweight clothing or directly on your body. Measurements should be snug — not tight — against your skin.

Chest

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulder blades. Keep the tape horizontal and parallel to the floor. Breathe normally — do not puff your chest out.

Waist

Measure around your natural waist — the narrowest part of your torso, typically 1–2 inches above your navel. Do not suck in your stomach. For trouser sizing, take a second measurement at the hip bone.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat — usually 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.

Inseam

Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of your ankle, along the inside of your leg. The easiest method: measure a pair of well-fitting trousers from the crotch seam to the hem along the inner leg.

Shoulders

Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other, across the back. The measurement point is the seam where the sleeve would join the body of a well-fitting shirt.

Sleeve Length

With your arm slightly bent, measure from the centre back of your neck, over the shoulder point, down the outside of your arm to your wrist. Alternatively, measure a well-fitting long-sleeve shirt from the centre back collar seam to the cuff.

Neck

Wrap the tape around the base of your neck where a shirt collar would sit. Add half an inch to allow for comfort. Most relevant for dress shirts and formal collared garments.

Rise (Seat Depth)

Sit on a flat chair and measure from your natural waistline down to the chair surface, along the side of your body. Rise affects how trousers fit through the seat and whether the waistband sits at the right height.

Understanding Fit Accuracy

Based on internal testing during development, our "97% accuracy within three purchases" figures reflect results across a range of body types, brands, and garment categories.

  • Session 1 (cold start): Based on internal testing during development, your first recommendation averages 87–90% accuracy, already outperforming a standard size chart lookup.
  • Sessions 2–3: With one or two purchases of feedback, accuracy rises to 94–96% for the categories you have shopped.
  • Session 4+: Sustained above 97% for brands and categories with sufficient feedback.

Accuracy may be lower for garments cut unusually (e.g., intentionally oversized streetwear) or for categories that fall outside our current scope (initially jeans and trousers; expanding to shirts, jackets, and knitwear).

Supported Brands and Retailers

Misure One integrates with a curated and expanding set of brands and retail platforms. For the initial launch, we focus on:

  • Denim and trousers across contemporary, premium, and luxury price tiers
  • Both directly-sold brand websites and major multi-brand retailers
  • AU/NZ and UK sizing conventions, with US sizing and European sizing (IT/FR/DE) supported via conversion

If a brand you shop is not yet supported, submit a request via support@misureone.com. We prioritise brand additions based on user demand and garment data availability.

Fit Types Explained

  • Slim fit: Close to the body throughout. Misure One adds approximately 1–2 cm of ease at the chest and waist, depending on the brand's interpretation.
  • Regular / classic fit: Comfortable without being loose. Standard ease across the chest, waist, and hips. Our default recommendation for most users and garments.
  • Relaxed / loose fit: Generous cut with significant ease, suited to those who prefer comfort over silhouette, or for garments designed with an intentionally oversized aesthetic.

Your fit preference can be adjusted per category in your dashboard, and recommendations will update immediately.

The Precision Policy

For purchases made through integrated retailers where a Misure One recommendation was provided, we stand behind our recommendation. If a garment we recommended does not fit, contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@misureone.com and we will cover the cost of a single alteration (up to NZD $30) or provide a credit toward your next purchase.

The Precision Policy applies when:

  • The garment was purchased via a connected retailer with an active Misure One integration
  • The recommended size was the size purchased (not a size you chose to override)
  • The claim is submitted within 14 days of confirmed delivery
  • You provide a brief description of how the garment does not fit

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my measurements change?

Update your measurements at any time in the Fit Profile section of your dashboard. Changes take effect immediately for all future recommendations.

I returned an item. Does that affect my profile?

Yes, in a positive way. When you return an item and tell us why, that information tightens the model for that brand, cut, and size tier. Returns are not penalised. They are training data.

My Fit Profile says Medium but the retailer's size chart says Large. Which do I trust?

Trust the Misure One recommendation. Retailer size charts are generalised and do not account for the specific garment's construction, fabric, or the nuances of your body shape. Our recommendation is based on the actual garment specifications for that item from that retailer.

How do I reset my Fit Profile?

Go to Settings → Fit Profile → Reset. This will clear your measurement data and purchase feedback history, returning your profile to a clean state. You will be walked through the initial questionnaire again. Resetting does not delete your account.

Does Misure One work with women's sizing?

Our initial launch focuses on men's jeans and trousers. Women's sizing is in active development. Register your interest at support@misureone.com. It helps us prioritise our roadmap.

How do I know my measurement data is secure?

Your body measurement data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and transmitted only over TLS 1.3 connections. It is never shared with retailers or third parties without your explicit consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What if I'm between sizes?

When you fall between two sizes, Misure One uses your stated fit preference to determine which direction to round. A slim preference rounds down; a regular preference rounds to the closest ideal ease; a relaxed preference rounds up.
